Mark was a good man and a good friend...he will be missed by many from his present and his past. I was stunned to hear of his passing. We lost touch through the years, but he will always be in my thoughts as he has been since our high school days.

Dear Kay, Alison and Marcus - I will always remember Mark as a wonderful father and devoted husband. He always had a smile on his face, and I attribute that to the wonderful ways all of you touched his heart. Mark will be missed by so many in the community. I saw him at Grumpy's recently and he seemed so tickled that our son Clark was a hockey player and a Red Wing fan. We will tell Clark about Mark someday. Our prayers go out to you. The Gibney Family

Dear Kay and family,
We were so very sorry to hear of Mark's passing. We knew each other in college, and over the years, as you know, we've seen each other at parties, Ventura's, etc., and always, always, Mark was so very friendly, and we will remember him that way. I hope there is some small consolation in knowing that he was sucessful, but more importantly, respected and well liked by all who knew him. Beyond that, it sounds like he had a strong faith, and we hope faith sustains all of you as well.
With sincere sympathy,
Cathy Redford

Kay, Alison, Markus-
Reading about Mark's passing led to a sadness and emptiness in my heart. I remember, fondly , meeting you both in college, then years later running into you all at various places in Toledo; namely Lomas and Venturas. It was as if time never passed. I will never forget the conversations we had as we talked about our children, careers, the fun we had at SAE parties, and of course, our mutual UT friends whom we still hold so dear. Mark was a true friend and he will be missed. I wish that I could be there with you at this time God Bless all of you. Lee Elzey

May of 2003, a Friday evening, I met Mark at a 50 year Sigma Alpha Epsilon UT campus gathering outside some campus buldings. We talked a long time together, found out we had the fraternity and many other things in common. Then I chanced into Mark three or four other instances, always enjoyed some sparkling conversation and often thought, I would like to get to know him even better. We left Toledo in late August 2008 so that stopped our Toledo social life. Mark remains in my mind, such an impressionable person, direct, tremendous conversationalist, quite a charming fellow and it was very understandable when I later discovered his outstanding business career and his seemingly endless social networking. Our condolences to the Rasmus family. Mark was a tremendous person!

Kay and family: Mark and I worked together on many projects in Maumee before I left the area in 2006. I always considered him one of the really "good guys," especially as a developer. He did so much for Maumee and was so good to work with, always honest, fair, and reaonable. I will miss him so much. Even though I moved back to PA, Mark and I had talked on several occasions about potential projects. My sympathies to all of you and to NW Ohio, which lost a really great advocate for the area.
