Nancy Barrios Obituary
Nancy Ann
Nancy Ann Barrios, 82, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014. She was born on August 18, 1931, in Toledo to John Henry and Winifred Dunning.
Nancy was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and attended Stautzenberger Secretarial School. Nancy married Melvin V. Barrios on November 17, 1956. She worked for Sealtest, Foodtown and Anne Grady Center.
Nancy was a 50 year member of Faith Community United Church of Christ, serving in many roles and singing in the choir. She was a member of Dendarah Court No. 10, Ladies' Oriental Shrine of North America, where she served in various leadership positions. She also served as a Girl Scout leader and Maumee Band Booster. Nancy was always giving of her time and talents to serve her family, church and community. Cooking was her passion and she was well known for her pies.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, Nancy loved her family and is survived by husband, Melvin; children, Mark (Michelle) Barrios of Wooster, Heidi (Ron) Denlinger of Holland, and Heather Speck of Whitehouse; 11 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, on Friday, April 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. Dendarah Court service will be held Friday evening, at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, at 10 a.m. with the funeral service beginning at 11. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Community U.C.C. or Shriners Hospital for Children.
