Norman Grodi Obituary

GRODI Norman J. Norman J. Grodi, 71 years, of Erie, MI died Saturday, June 10, 2006, in The Toledo Hospital. He retired from the Jeep Corporation where he worked as a painter and welder. The son of Richard and Margaret Grodi, he was born February 28, 1935, in Erie, MI. He was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. September 11, 1961, he married Bonnie Allen in Monroe. She preceded him in death May 31, 1974. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved planting his garden every year and sharing his produce. A great mechanic, he would fix your car for dinner and the price of the parts. He is survived by his loving daughters, Margaret (Scott) Chambers, Georgia (Ray) Farmer; sister, Theresa (Floyd) Ankney; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 till 8 p.m. in the Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. by the Rev. Daniel Nusbaum, pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church with interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery Erie, MI. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. I often think of my uncle Norm because he had the best smile and the sweetest disposition of anyone I have ever known! Needless to say, he´s greatly missed!

I am terribly sorry to hear about the passing of my cousin, Norman, my wife, Lois, and I are sorry we can't attend the funeral. We only heard about it on the computer obituraries today 6-12-06 We send our condolenses to the family.

I Love You!! I miss you already. Life will some how be more empty without you. You were the closes reminder for me as a connection to my father, your brother Richard. Thank You, Uncle Norman for always being there for me. My Heart is full of love for you and my prayers go to Your loved ones.
