In business you rarely have the opportunity to choose who you work with. If given the choice, Randy would have consistently been at the top of my list.

Randy was an extraordinary representative for Dana and a true friend within the truck industry. Through what seems like countless meetings, trade shows, dinners and industry events over the years, Randy always brought a smile, a cheerful attitude and a strong desire to provide exceptional support to Dana's many customers. We were extremely fortunate to be one of them.

I am truly a better person for having had the opportunity to know and work with Randy over the years and extend my sincerest sympathy and deepest condolences during this time of overwhelming sorrow.

Randy was a dear and special friend. He had so many wonderful qualities; it would take too long to list. By him being taken so suddenly, he was unable to experience some of his plans, his dreams. I miss his presence, his smile, and whether it was a joke, an in-depth conversation, or an idle chat, I miss his voice.

My sincerest condolences, thoughts, and prayers go out to the Saunders family. I know your pain and sorrow must be great, but isn’t it worth it to have had such a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.

If each person who knew him will reflect back on his words, actions, and kindness, you will know how much he, too, cherished you.

Randy, may your spirit be peaceful in knowing how much you were loved.

Randy, 19 years ago, I hired on as field salesman in your PartsCraft division. With just three years under your belt, you were already in the division office. Regardless of who I should have called with my rookie questions, you never once had me call someone else. You either conferenced in the appropriate person, or researched the answer and personally called me back. All these years, I have cited you as one to emulate in regards to meeting and exceeding our customers' expectations. Thank you for setting the benchmark so high. It was a privilege working with you.

I'll never forget a silly conversation I had with Randy. We were talking about Grandma and Grandpa Gibson having so many children and how it was funny that in French Finis means "The End," yet she was the first born of nine children. We kind of wondered if maybe Grandma Gibson was wishful thinking.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

May 13, 2006

My prayers and thoughts are with the Saunders family. Not a day has gone by that I haven't thought of Randy. When things got rough, I could always talk to him and was always assured when he would always tell me, "Just hang in there kiddo." He was awesome, smart, funny, dedicated...the list goes on and on! He is missed dearly.
