Robert Kruse Obituary

Robert R. Kruse, Sr.

Robert R. "Bob" Kruse Sr. passed away on October 8th, 2024, into the arms of his savior and Lord Jesus Christ at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, with his wife and son at his bedside, after 5 years of suffering from dementia due to Alzheimer's. He was born, February 27th, 1959, to Myrna Kruse, who preceded in death. Bob attended Toledo Public Schools in both grade school and high school. At the age of 18 he gained employment at Daimler Chrysler Jeep and retired in 2009 after 30.5 years of service. He met his wife Cristine in November 1984, and they have two beautiful children, Nicole Marie and Robert Kruse Jr. Bob worked very hard, and he was able to send our children to private schools, which was very important to him. He was a Detroit Tigers and Ohio State fan. He was an avid outdoorsman and in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. For the last 30 years, we have always had Labrador Retrievers. Bob always had our dogs compete in field trial hunt tests and he always enjoyed this. Our dogs received ribbons and points for their accomplishments. He was a member of the Ohio Hunting Retriever Club. Every summer for the past 20-plus years he would go up North with his childhood friends to golf and fish. He loved to get out of the city and enjoy the peace and quiet. His best friend Dave Benn would come over and pick him up and take him to Ottawa Park to walk around and pick up golf balls. This meant the world to me, that Dave stuck by him through these challenging times. This is the definition of a true and loyal friend. Dave was also his best man at our wedding. We married on June 13th, 1992, in the Church of the Mast Blessed Sacrament – we met in November 1984.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cristine; children, Nicole and Dr. Sergio Elias D.D.S. Robert Jr.; granddaughter, Julia; and our 2 Labrador Retrievers, Jay and Sky; his cousins, Mike and Lynn Kruse, James and Mary Kate Kruse, Timothy and Ellen Kruse, Chris Kruse, Cathie Meade; brothers in law, David Ball, Mathew Segura; sister-in-law, Theresa DeFalco; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A life celebration will be held later. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the Toledo Humane Society.

Rest Easy you are now free and at peace. It was something unpredictable and in the end Is right. I hope you had the time of your life.

I am so sorry for your loss. Bob was a great friend. We played a lot of golf together in the 80's and used to hang out together at Raceway park. Unfortunately working different shifts at Jeep we weren't able to see each other. He was a wonderful man. My sincere condolences.

It has been DECADES since I have seen Bob but I have always remembered his friendship and his mother ( at the neighborhood convenience store) very fondly. I am so sorry for your loss. May your fond memories of your life together be greater than your pain!
