Roger Clark Power, 82, of Toledo, OH passed away on February 14, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. He was born on December 18, 1934 to Irving and Marion (Clark) Power. He graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1953.
Roger received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of Michigan in 1957. He moved to California to enter the life insurance business, as he knew fellow SAE members there. Roger moved back to Toledo to join Pilot Life Insurance Co. based in Greensboro, KY. Eventually, he and a friend formed their own Pilot Life Insurance Agency in Toledo. Roger was also employed by Alexander Hamilton Insurance based out of Detroit, MI. He was awarded agent of the year and often awarded trips that he, his wife and children really enjoyed. He loved people and made many friends who remain to this day.
Surviving is his loving wife, Ruth; son, Stephen (Jeanette); daughter, Stephanie and grandson, Adam. Also surviving are sisters, Marilyn (Clyde) Stedcke and Jane Barnes; 5 nieces and 3 nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob.
Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 Noon. Online condolences may be shared at

Ruth, l was sorry to learn of Rogers passing. Another great friend from class of 53 DeVilbiss. I have thought of you both many times and I have tried to phone you but was not successful. So saddened by the passing. Paula and I will always remember the afternoons at Michigan Stadium together with the many tailgates. I will also remember our many lunches, basketball games and golf. Fun guy and a terrific person with the unbelieveable U of M spirit that was always there during any conversation. All the best to the family from the Taliaferro's.

Roger was a really good friend, especially in our younger days when we both lived in Toledo. He made each day brighter. What an uplifting personality! An outstanding sense of humor, a smile and bright greeting for everyone. He was also involved in many activities, a leader in many.

Oh dear, so sorry to get this news. Roger and I had been friends since elementary school. We've had lots of laughs, fun, and gossip over the years. We were chosen as the most all around seniors at DHS and joked and kidded about it at each reunion. I've thought about him often although I've let years go by without communication lately.
