Shirley Irene Bialecki, age 78, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Maumee Pointe Assisted Living Care. Born on November 26, 1946, in Flint, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of John Baker and Gwendolyn (George) Grime.
Shirley married the love of her life, Lawrence Bialecki, and together they shared 41 wonderful years until his passing in 2015. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Shirley found joy in caring for her family and creating lasting memories through her passions - especially crocheting and camping at Manapogo Park.
She worked as a school bus driver for Maumee City Schools for 13 years, and after retiring, she dedicated herself to caring for her grandchildren, a role she cherished deeply. Her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and quiet strength will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Jody) Barnes; grandchildren, Jacqueline (Thomas) Berg, Larry (Michele) Bialecki III, Nicolas Barnes, Stephanie Barnes, and Jonathan Barnes; great-grandchildren, Charlie and Vivien Berg; sisters, Janet (Bob) Savage and Donna (Dan) Gravance; and Larry Bialecki Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her parents; and siblings, Gwen, Dave, Phillip, and Raymond.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 4–7 p.m., at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio 43537. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 2 p.m., at St. Patrick's Cemetery, in Grand Rapids, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's name to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Condolences may be shared with the family online at
