Suzanne Augustyniak Obituary

Suzanne M. Augustyniak

Suzanne M. "Sue" Augustyniak, age 82, of Toledo, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio's Ebeid Hospice Center on Friday, May 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 20, 1943, in Toledo, OH, to Alvin and Stella (Olender) Meinen. Sue graduated from Woodward High School in 1961, then married Roger Augustyniak Sr. on May 5, 1962, and enjoyed 63 wonderful years together. Sue, Roger, and their children, Roger Jr. and Renee, traveled across the United States every summer visiting every state but Alaska. For many years Sue and Roger would spend a week in Las Vegas with their friends, Bill and Judy Troendle, and 2 weeks with friends they had made over the years in Vero Beach, FL. Blessed with a loving, caring nature, Sue enjoyed helping people and was able to do so at the Church Women United Thrift Shop where she was employed for 45 years and was still working part time up until 2 months ago.

Sue was a longtime parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church where her strong Catholic faith led her to become a Eucharistic Minister. She was also active in the church's Altar Rosary Society, the funeral luncheon program, working at the church festivals and monthly Donut Sundays, and baking for the annual Palm Sunday bake sale. She enjoyed doing a variety of crafts, playing card games, puzzles, cooking, and sending cards to everyone she knew for any event you could imagine. A thoughtful and generous wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, she will be dearly missed.

Sue is survived by her husband, Roger Augustyniak Sr.; children, Roger (Maggie) Augustyniak Jr. and Renee (Dan) McIlhargie; grandchildren, Kyle (Sara) McIlhargie, Heather (Kevin) Stith, Valerie (Seth) Lambert, Emily (James) Coburn, and Seth (fiancée Savannah) Augustyniak; great-grandchildren, D'Khai Lambert and Abigail McIlhargie; bonus great-granddaughter, Maisie Taylor; sister-in-law, Sylvia Bolyard; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Pearl Poturalski; sister, Cathy (Jerry) Wells; and brother-in-law, Fred Bolyard Sr.

Visitation will be Friday, May 30, from 2:00-8:00 p.m., and Saturday, from 9:00-10:00 a.m., at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., with a rosary Friday at 6 p.m. Funeral services will begin Saturday, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home, and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Church Women United Thrift Shop, Regina Coeli Catholic Church, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Condolences and memories can be shared at www.sujkowski.com.
