Thomas DeLong Obituary

DE LONG Thomas G. Sr. Thomas G. DeLong, Sr., age 87, of the Point/Shoreland Community, was taken by the angels and placed into the loving arms of his Messiah on Monday, March 16, 2009. Tom worked for 42 years at Jeep, retiring in 1982; he was also a member of the UAW Local 12. Tom relished the time he spent out doors. He served a mighty God and he worshiped him in fellowship at The Church on Strayer Road. Tom's legacy consists of his children, Thomas (Nancy) DeLong, Jr., Joyce Winland, and Charles DeLong, along with their mother, Leona Roberts; grandchildren, Sonya, Shilo, Raymond, John, and Max; great-grandchild, Hunter; step-children, Ron and Terry McCaughey; sisters, Flossie Kinstler, Carolyn Williamson, and Patricia Booher; 8 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-children. Tom was reunited with his loving wife, Lenna (2002); brothers, Merril, and Bud; sisters, Ruby and Mary. Visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2009 from 2-8 p.m. at David R. Jasin Funeral Home, Inc., 5300 N. Summit St. (419.726.1583). Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009. Interment will be at Toledo Memorial Park. Joyce and family...
It has been a great many years since we've seen each other and/or talked. It seems like only yesterday we were together as good friends. I was sadden to see your father's obituary today and just wanted to take the time to give my condolences and remind you that you will be remembered in my prayers as I ask our Heavenly Father to watch over you and guide you through this most difficult time. May your father's love remain in your heart and may his memories live on with you forever.
