Thomas WOLF Obituary

WOLF Thomas H. Thomas H. Wolf passed away August 27, 2010. Known as Tom by his friends and Boompa by his grandchildren, he was born August 30, 1940, in Utica, New York. Tom met the love of his life, Carolyn Wolf, when he was thirteen, and they were married 52 years. After a successful career with Dana Corporation, Tom retired in Pensacola and opened Tom's Rod and Reel, where he made many special friends in the area. He was involved with the Salvation Army, the Big Brother Program, and was an NRA instructor. His generosity to friends, family, and strangers was an example to everyone that knew him. A life-long tinkerer, Tom enjoyed working on fishing poles and classic cars. He also sailed the Great Lakes with his family and friends behind the helm of his boat, the Tinkertoy. Tom was always the life of any gathering, and his presence will be sorely missed. Tom was a role-model, mentor, and friend to everyone that knew him. His love, support, and guidance, which were always accompanied by his sense of humor and ability to tell a great story, shaped everyone around him. His daughter was the light of both his and Carol's life from the time she was born. He was very proud of his family, and he loved attending their dance recitals, weddings, and graduations. Tom will be deeply missed by his family which included his wife, Carolyn Wolf; his daughter, Bonnie Segers and her husband, Donald; his grandchildren Laura Segers, Blair Segers, and Julie Lovell and her husband Matthew; his great-grandchildren Parker, Caleb, and Austin Lovell; his sister, Carol Sullivan; his brother James Wolf; and many special nieces, nephews, and brother and sisters in law. There will be a private gathering for the family. Arrangements are being made by Trahan Family Funeral Home.

It breaks my heart to hear about loosing Tom .I have known Tom for many years . He was the best factory rep Dana had while he was there. He would always take care of any problems we had.On every visit to Mobile he would take us to lunch. He loved seafood. We would get the business out of the way quick . Then we could talk about the serious stuff which was fishing , making fishig lures , rod and reels ,and boats. I was sure glad he moved to Pensacola and I enjoyed taking all of my rod and reels to him to restore. He loved everything he did for people and I loved to be around him . He always made you feel welcome . He always expressed his love for his wife , children and grandchildren. He was very proud of them and always kept up with their grades at school ,activities ,and would brag on them.I will miss him greatly . You and your family are in my prayers .

One of my earliest memories was with “Uncle” Tom. He would throw me up and down in the pool as a child. My family and I enjoyed a trip to Florida when we went out on his boat and fished the banks of the ocean late into the night on some private beach. He was a generous host and a pure gentleman. My father (“Duke” aka George), Tom, and Wally were like kids when they got together. They always had great stories and loved to play with their toys. I was sorry to hear the news and I know he will be missed.
