William Daunhauer Obituary
William L. Daunhauer, Sr., 82, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Regency Hospital. He was born on May 14, 1938 in Toledo to Edward and Gertrude (Ritzenthaler) Daunhauer. Bill graduated from Central Catholic High in 1956, he worked for AP Parts and then Graphics Group. Bill was a longtime member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and a current parishioner of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. He volunteered at the Peristyle Art Museum, Franciscan Life Center, Stranahan and Valentine Theatres.
Bill was married to Collette (Mattes) for 55 years, she preceded him in death in 2016. He is survived by his children, Judith (Thomas) Kraus, Mary (Jim) Bakalis, William (Gena) Daunhauer, Jr., Christine (Kirk) Allen and David (Jessica) Daunhauer; grandchildren, Greg (Dina) Kraus, Sarah (Mike) Levi, Katie and Jessica Bakalis, Adam Daunhauer, Amanda (Jon) Willard, Gwen, Nathan and Zachary Allen and Izzi, Tessa and Deacon Daunhauer; great-grandchildren, Emma and Johnathan Levi and Evelyn Kraus; and his best friend/companion, Joyce Dennison "GG".
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd, Oregon, on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 3-7 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. with Mass at St. Ignatius Catholic Church at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to St. Ignatius Parish or the charity of donor's choice.
