Willie Welch Obituary

WELCH Reverend Willie B. Reverend Willie B. Welch was born on August 29, 1925, to Reverend Willie H. Welch and Artelia Welch. He departed this life on Sunday, June 28, 2009, at the Flower Hospital. Rev. Welch was employed at the General Motors Company for 31 years until his retirement in 1987. He pastored at several churches here in the city of Toledo including: Antioch Baptist, Second Baptist, and Mt. Olive Baptist. Mt. Olive Baptist and Paradise Baptist merged together in October of 2000 where he served as pastor until 2006. He had a love for gospel quartet music. He sang all around the city of Toledo in male chorus groups and quartets. One of his favorite songs that he loved to sing was " What More Do You Want From The Lord". Reverend Welch leaves to cherish his memory: wife of fourteen years, Mrs. Ulalia Welch; sister, Ms. Mary Cotton of Memphis, TN; brothers, Rev. Joel (Carrie) Welch of Memphis, TN, John (Blanche) Welch of San Bernardino, CA and Raymond (Madies) Welch of Holland, CA; 1 son, Carnell Revels; 2 daughters, Myra Gail Hope and Taneeka Grier; 4 grandsons; 1 great-grandson; special niece, Verlin Estis and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Monday at Dale - Riggs Funeral Home Chapel. Wake service 11 a.m. Tuesday followed by funeral service at 12 noon at Calvary Baptist Church, Rev. Floyd Smith Jr. Pastor; Rev. Emmanual Washington officiant. Burial Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
