Mr. J.D. Rhoads, 81, of Tomball, passed away Monday, December 22nd at Grace Care Center at Northpointe. Visitation with family and friends was held on Friday, December 26th from 12:00 - 1:00pm at Nobles Funeral Chapel. Funeral services followed at 1:00pm Friday at the funeral home with interment in Oakland Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Carter officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
J.D. was born in Houston on January 16, 1933, the son of Thurston & Emily (McElroy) Rhoads. On May 24, 1952, he married his love, Juanita Wehmeyer, in Navasota, and they have shared the last 62 years together. He served his country in the U.S. Army before returning to become a principal in the Spring Branch I.S.D. where he spent 31 years.
Mr. Rhoads was preceded in death by his parents and brother T.C. Rhoads, II.
He is survived by his wife Juanita Wehmeyer Rhoads of Tomball; sons, Donald Lynn Rhoads and wife Andrea of Longview and James David Rhoads and wife Stephanie Abernethy of Tomball; grandchildren, Donald, Scott, David, Brandon, Ryan, Tyler and Rachel; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
