It's now been 7 years without you here with me. I miss you just like it was yesterday. I speak to you often and get mad at you when something breaks around the house and you're not here to fix it (smile). I never thought I would have to go through retirement without you.... all those plans we had... I look forward to the day our souls meet again. Until then SIP my love.

It's now been 6 years. When you get married and they say "until death do you part" you don't realize that it's inevitable. You don't prepare yourself to be without your life-partner. Grieving is a long hard process. I wonder if it ever ends. I miss you Peanut and guess I always will. SIP until we meet again.

It’s been 3 years and I feel your presence still. When I talk to you I know you’re listening ( smile). I couldn’t have asked for a better life partner. Just wish that life was longer. SIP my love.

I'm just getting around to reading the messages left by friends and family. Thank you everyone so much for caring! My sons' and I will forever keep Al's memory and legacy alive. I live on now for both of us. I cherish those 31 years of a loving marriage. Peanut left me with a lifetime of happy memories. We really enjoyed each other. I look forward to the day our spirits will be joined together again. Much Love, Lisa.

To Lisa, Alex, Alan, and Alfonso Jr. and the entire Slaughter Family-
Alfonso will be sorely missed. We worked together at Forensic for many years and my sons went to school with his sons. May "the peace of God that excels all thought" (Phil. 4:7) comfort and keep you at this sorrowful time.

Heaven has gained a truly beloved angel in you, Uncle Peanut. I relish in the thought that, though you are deeply missed by all of us who love you, you are in eternally great company with the other musical legends whose ranks you will now join. Every time I think of you, my soul comes alive with the melodic rhythm of the beautiful music you could so eloquently craft with a mere flick of your wrist. Your beautiful memory will live on in your hearts, your musical genius forever gracing our ears with each caress of the winds of life. Soar in paradise, Uncle! We are all blessed to now have a guardian angel in you.
