Grandma Flo & the Deems Family,
I am just now hearing the news about Conan, and want to pass along my condolences. I only met Conan once, in July 2010 at the Preston & Steve studio in Bala. That day, however, was made even more fun by his presence! I am glad I got to meet him, although sad I won't get the chance to ever again. He had such a shining personality and was quite the character!! When Preston & Steve had him on the air towards the end of their show that day he could not stop making us all crack up. Those guys liked him a lot, I could tell, and I know he loved that show and was so excited to be there even though I know it wasn't the first time. That's a day I likely will not forget my whole life. I am glad he no longer has to struggle with the pains of his disease, but the world has lost a truly awesome person with Conan's passing.

I taught Conan at Mercer county Jr/Sr HS. He was such an amazing guy. So excited to learn and to teach others. I am so sorry for your loss. I always think of him fondly.

Thank You! To all of you who have taken the time to write notes of condolences. I did not know that The Trentonian had an on-line obituary page with guest book, until a friend told us. So many thanks, also, to The Trentonian for providing this service.
Conan had Duchennes muscular dystrophy, as most of you know. This is the most severe of the several types of MD and seems to afflict only boys. Usually the boys live no longer than into their very early 20s. Conan would have been 30 next month. Why/how he managed to live this long is a mystery to all, including the doctors. But that he was able to, provided him with those extra years to help others feel better about themselves.
Now his "job" is done, and so he's in Heaven with Matt and Chris, and like Matt's mom Virginia said, the 3 of them are probably raising a ruckus!
Conan has said several times that he attributed his longer-than-usual life to the excellent care provided by the loving staff at the Fox Subacute Center in Warrington, PA, where he lived for the past several years. He loved the place and the people there, so if any of them are reading this, I want them to know this.
I have reached the point of acceptance - even happiness that now Conan is relieved of his physical limitations. I still miss him, of course, but it is with a much lighter heart than I ever thought I'd feel.
Again, thank you all for being a valuable part of Conan's life.

To the Deems family,
I was Conan's teacher many years ago. I remember him as a vivacious young man with a fun filled spirit.
I have so many fond memories of Conan....going to Disney on Operation Dreamlife. Giving him my son's hog nose snake cause my son had tired of it. Having an ant farm in class and Conan getting bit by one of the ants that got out and his leg swelling up from the bite.
He's in a better place resting comfortably. May you find comfort in remembering the good times that you've shared.
I have several pictures of Conan that I'd love to mail to you if you'd like. Please contact me with your address.
In sympathy, Barbara (Winkler) Wig

Conan, I only knew you briefly and had spoken to you just this past Saturday as I was coming to visit my daughter, Erin, but I always enjoyed our conversations. You opened up my eyes to the world of the disabled. You were always uplifting to me about my daughter but I saw a sadness in your eyes when I spoke to you. I hope you have found peace and know you are surely one of God's best angels. Please watch over all of us and keep a special eye on my daughter, Erin. I know she would have enjoyed talking to you as I did. You will be missed, especially when I visit since I always enjoyed our encounters in the hall whether entering or leaving. You were a pleasure to be around. Take care and God Bless, I will keep you in my prayers.
