Thomas Chell Obituary
Born in Trenton he was a lifelong area resident.
Tom served in the U.S. National Guard during the Cuban Missile Crisis and he was the owner/operator of Zip's Auto Sales in Trenton for over 40 years. He was also a member of The Italian American Sportsman Club.
He was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Cora Coombe Chell; his brother, Russell T. Chell; father and mother-in-law, Alfred and Sophie Skraiewski; and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Skrajewski.
Tom is survived by his sweetheart and wife of 50 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Watson Chell; daughters and sons-in-law, Janine and Michael McVay and Jennifer and Thomas McDonald; brothers and spouses, John and Nancy Chell, Charles and Mary Chell and Daniel and Elaine Chell; five grandchildren, Paige, Olivia, Jack, Ryan and Cecilia; a brother-in-law, Frank Skrajewski; sister-in-law, Lucille Chell; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held Monday, August 3, at 8 p.m. from the Gruerio Funeral Home, 311 Chestnut Avenue, Trenton. Funeral will be private at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Tom's family Monday, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or St. Vincent DePaul Church, 555 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Yardville, NJ 08620.

Betty, I am so sad to hear of Tommys death. He was such a good man. His seat at DiMattias restaurant will be where I remember him always. Enjoying those dinners Nick made him. I am honored to have gotten to know him and call him my friend.

Betty and family,
We were truly sorry to hear about Tommy. Such a great guy. We saw you both at Broad St. Diner a few weeks back and what a great attitude he had about his journey with this bout. Betty you are his soulmate and a great caregiver. Just remember all the great good times; it helps to heal. He will be missed by many.

To Tom's family: Dan, Johnny and Charlie:
It is with sadness that I read of Tommy's passing.
Not only do I remember Tommy as a kid with fond memories, but as an astute, very affable business man, and friend.
I had been trying to catch up with Danny for the past few years, and finally on my 2nd day up here, found him coming out of the house on his way to the hospital. I can only assume it was his goodbye to Tom.
Tom'a big smile his bearlike handshake is is imbued in my memory. May he now rest in a painless peace, and may the perpetual light shine upon him. I share your loss.

Dear Betty and family,
My prayers and condolences to all of you.Tommy was a wonderful man who always was there for everyone. He took the time to always visit with my dad Domenick Tattoni. They had a very special friendship and for that I will always remember Tommy with great fondness. Tommy was a sweet and caring man. He will be tremendously missed but I know that he is with dad now probably sharing a cup of espresso and a Sambuca. Lots of love to the Chell family. Tommy will always hold a special place in my heart.

Dear Betty,
Learning of the passing of your Tommy made me very sad.
His phone calls to my father Dominick "Abie" Azzaro were always uplifting.
Their reflections back to the "good old days" made both of them happy.
