Lisa Varrato Obituary

Lisa Ann (Grabiak) Varrato passed away peacefully Sunday, May 5, 2013. Our loving mother, daughter and sister has now joined those in heaven who have gone before us. Lisa was born Dec. 9, 1956, in Greensburg, the daughter of the late Samuel L. Grabiak and Mary Lou Grabiak, of Arizona. A lifelong resident of New Alexandria, Lisa spent more than 15 years working for her father, the late Sam Grabiak, at Grabiak Chevrolet. She was recently working in the health care industry, tending to the elderly and disabled. She was an avid horseman, loved the outdoors, her animals, gardening and being with family and friends. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. She is survived by three wonderful children, Giano, Noah and Kenzie Varrato; her mother, Mary Lou Grabiak; brother, Chris Grabiak; and sister, Andrea Hershberger. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, New Alexandria. A service for her close friends and family will be held at 9 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. R. Bruce Maxwell, of Rector. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. James Catholic Church in New Alexandria. Everyone go directly to the church. Interment will be private. http://www.newhousefuneralhome.com.
