Robert G. Treece, 64, of Clarksburg (Conemaugh Township), died Monday, March 15, 2004, in Latrobe Area Hospital. A son of William G. and Della M. Bertocchi Treece, he was born July 31, 1939, in Conemaugh Township, Indiana County. He was an honorary volunteer fireman with the Tunnelton Fire Department. He liked the outdoors and being with his grandchildren. Bob was well-known throughout the community as a private contractor. He was the owner of Robert Treece Excavating Company. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Beverly Cummings Treece, whom he married on June 30, 1962; two sons, Brian S. Treece and his wife, Mary, and Brett A. Treece and his wife, Michelle, all of Conemaugh Township; eight grandchildren, Brandon Treece, Evan Snyder, Bradley Treece, Cathern Treece, Laura Snyder, Caleb Treece, Ryan Treece and Megan Treece; two brothers, Merle A. Treece and his wife, Doris, of Peoria, Ariz., and James R. Treece and his wife, Sara Jane, of Greensburg; three sisters, Lois Shirley Barrickman and her husband, Robert, of Holiday Park, Gladys Frassenei and her husband, Albert, of Saltsburg, and Mary Lou Treece, of Conemaugh Township; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Treece. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the SHOEMAKER FUNERAL HOME INC., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Tom R. Jones officiating. Interment will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg.
