Claudette J. Knuckles

Claudette Jean Manley Knuckles, 56, of Arnold, passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at home, due to complications of cancer. She was born July 20, 1959, to the late Clifford Manley and Marlene Howell Savannah, and was a lifelong resident of the area. Claudette was a member of the World Overcomer's Ministries. She worked for Catoris Candies and for the YMCA with the youth and after-school programs where she mentored children, not to mention rearing numerous children as her own, and the community at large. She enjoyed cooking, especially for family functions, watching Walker, Texas Ranger and Family Feud and playing bingo. Claudette is survived by her husband of 39 years, Cedric Mark Knuckles; sons, Cedric (Akesa) Knuckles, of Columbia, S.C., and Antwon (Shawnee) Knuckles; daughter, Alexis Knuckles; five grandchildren, Damir, Faith, Savannah, Brendon and Sunema; brothers, Randall (Cynthia) Howell and Clifford Manley; stepbrother, Paul Wingate, of Harrisburg; stepsisters, Terra Lynn Jackson, of Queens, N.Y., Margaret Wingate and Janice Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, LaQuita and Suzette; stepbrother, Dale Windage; great-nephew, Manuel Taylor; and uncles, Robert and Terry Howell and Laverne and Albert Manley; and several extended cousins. Viewing will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 1150 Asa W. Roberts Blvd. (formerly Fourth Avenue), New Kensington. Anyone attending the service, please go to the church.
