Born Jan. 6, 1925, in Saxonburg, he lived in Tarentum before moving to New Kensington in 1991. He attended Tarentum High School. A veteran, he served in World War II with the Navy from 1943 to 1946. Mr. Lang owned Lang's Repair Service, Tarentum, for 40 years before retiring in 1991. He also serviced tow boats that operated on the Allegheny River. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Elks, both in Tarentum, and was a member of the American Legion in Brackenridge. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and working on cars and boats. Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Joan Wiles Russo Lang; three daughters, Mrs. Suzanne (Leo) Tarhay of Sanford, Mich., Mrs. Rita Jo (Jim) Holway of Phoenix, Ariz., and Brenda Lee (Steven Johns) Lang of Freeport; a stepson, Benjamin S. Russo of Greensburg; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Andrea Diane (Terry) Orris of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and two sisters, Mrs. Martha (Louis) Sagath of Fawn and Mrs. Lois (Edward) Musk of Freeport. He also is survived by three grandchildren, Eron and Lian Tarhay of Sanford and Joseph Holway of Phoenix; two stepgrandchildren, Leighann Orris and Terry Orris Jr. of Cuyahoga Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Eugena Goslin Lang. There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday in KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. The Rev. Donald Frye, pastor of Springdale Open Bible Church, will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice, 250 Mt. Lebanon Blvd., #203, Pittsburgh, PA 15234 or to the Tarentum VFW Ladies Aux., Fourth Ave., Tarentum, PA 15084.
