Jerome Stramaski Obituary

Jerome J. Stramaski, 62, of Kiski Township, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at West Haven Nursing Home, Washington Township, where he was a patient for 2 1/2 weeks. He was born Nov. 9, 1946, in Natrona heights, to Joseph Stramaski, of Avonmore, and the late Helen L. (Sazalsky) Stramaski, who died July 14, 2007. He lived in the Avonmore and Apollo area all of his life. He was a laborer in the Roll Shop at Avonmore Foundry for many years, retiring in 2005, and was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, East Vandergrift, American Legion Post No. 114, Vandergrift, Veterans of Foreign War, Vandergrift, and Disabled American Veterans and was a 1965 graduate of Kiski Area High School. In addition to his father he is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Milanak) Stramaski; two brothers, Richard and Dennis (Joan) Stramaski, both of Avonmore; and mother-in-law, Mildred (Milanak) Shaeffer, of East Vandergrift. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 429 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, PA 15690. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, East Vandergrift, with Father Michael Sciberras officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo, where military honors will be accorded by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard Inc.
