Steve Gabor Obituary

Pastor Steve Gabor, 68, of Arnold, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at the VA Hospital, Oakland. He was born Sept. 5, 1949, in New Kensington to the late Stephen and Bessie Munskadunaditch Gabor. He served in the Marines during the Vietnam War, receiving a Purple Heart, the White House Medal and a medal for serving in Vietnam. He lived by the saying, "Love without judgment." Eighteen years ago, he and his wife started a ministry out of a basement, where he and his wife later started a soup kitchen in a tent outside, until one day he acquired the Mission House next door. He enjoyed giving back to this community, especially the children of Arnold and New Kensington. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Anne Willis Gabor; his children, Sonia (Faouz) Bovadi, Aaron J. Gabor, Steve (Brittany) Gabor, Eric (Mindy) Gabor and Elena (Dom) Gabor; his puppies, Auggie and Susie; and his grandchildren, Adam, Tyler, Bradon, Delana, Ashlynn, Anthony, Bradley, Steven, Andrew, Gabby, Ryan and Eric.
A memorial service will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at Allegheny Valley Church of God, 216 Catalpa St., New Kensington, which was graciously opened for the service by Pastor Carmen Butler. Officiating will be the Rev. Stan Lasinski. Arrangements were entrusted to JOSEPH J. CARDARO FUNERAL HOME, New Kensington, 724-337-3325. The ministry will continue indefinitely, as will Sunday church services at 1 p.m. Anyone wishing to speak at the service should contact Rebecca.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Pastor Steve to Lighthouse Ministries Mission Inc. to help with funeral costs. All donations are greatly appreciated.

Every day is still so hard without you. Your son misses you so much your death has been very hard on him. We miss you so very much I miss calling you for advice. Your grandchildren miss you to all honor roll students and Steven plays football you would be so proud of him and I know you would've attended every game. We love you so much.

Dad as this day approaches it's still very hard to believe and extremely hard to move on, I know it's been three years but I just can't get over the fact that your amazing smile is no longer here for us. Your still the most amazing father in law and the most amazing pap we all miss and love you dearly.
