May 28, 1937 - February 23, 2025

Kennewick, Washington - In Loving Memory of Bob Joe Ross.

May 28, 1937 February 23, 2025.

With deep love and gratitude, we honor the life of Bob Joe Ross, who passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on May 28, 1937, in Bedias, Texas, to Jesse and Lucy Ross, Bob was the ninth of ten children raised in Southeast Texas. He grew up surrounded by the values of hard work, integrity, and devotion to familyTexas principles that guided him throughout his life.

A proud decorated veteran who served for 20+ years as well as a tour of duty in Vietnam, Bob dedicated his career to the United States Air Force, where he rose to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. After serving his country Bob embarked on a second career this time focusing on serving his community. For the next 20 years Bob served as a Marshall and the Head of Maintenance at the small Washington town of South Cle Elum. Though he never pursued formal education beyond his early years, his knowledge and expertise were boundless. He possessed an extraordinary ability to solve any problem presented.

Beyond his military career, Bob found his greatest joy in the great outdoors. Whether walking through the woods hunting or spending time in the open water fishing, he cherished the simple beauty of nature. It was in those moments that he felt most at home.

Bob's wisdom and warmth left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His greatest legacy, however, is the love he poured into his family. He survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mary Ann Ross, his cherished daughter, Rhonda Denley and her husband, Dan Denley, and his devoted sons, Stacy and his wife, Gail Ross and Kevin Ross and his wife, Roxanne Ross. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with countless friends and loved ones who were blessed by his kindness and wisdom.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lucy Ross. brothers Jesse Ross and Tommy Ross and sisters Ruby Bowman, Lucy Ross, Lucille Ross and Baby Ross. He is survived by his siblings: Wilbur Ross, Mary Moser, and Mildred Drum ("Joe").

A service to honor and celebrate Bob's life will be held on March 8, 2025, with family members in Kennewick Washington. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the local chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Affairs in Kennewick Washington.

Rest in peace, Dad. Your love, your lessons, and your legacy will remain in our hearts forever.

Bob was a great person. He helped Jodie and I several times when we lived in south Cle elum. I asked Bob at about 1992 if he had a grub hoe I could barrow. He kindly handed me the back braking tool and stated, " You can use it as long as you promise me you´ll never bring it back".
Rest in peace Bob
