J.F. Moore Obituary
J.F. Moore
October 11, 1930 - January 10, 2024
Kennewick, Washington - Long-term Kennewick resident J. F. Moore passed away on January 10, 2024
(1930-2024)
J. F. Moore, the son of Edgar Hill Moore and Edith Guskell was born on October 11, 1930, in Dennison, Texas, and passed away in Pasco, Washington on January 10, 2024. He was 93 years young when he passed away.
From his birth in Dennison, Texas he lived in north Texas during his young years. He married Gladys Ellen Trainer, the love of his life on September 25, 1949, in Pampa Texas and celebrated nearly 74 years of a blessed marriage until Gladys passed away from an aneurism that burst because of a car accident in Richland, WA where she was a passenger late in 2022. JF and Gladys had three children Shari Lynn, Larry, and Jeffrey. Shari and Larry were born in Borger, TX and Jeffrey was born in Kennewick, WA a few years later.
J.F. became an electrician in his youth and was always the hardest working employee anywhere he worked. Hard work, decency, and compassion were the heart of his being through his entire life, and he tried to instill such a moral character to the rest of the family and to all his friends.
J. F. was for many years active in the leadership of the Kennewick Masonic Lodge and created an electrical business focusing on serving the Tri-Cities in Washington, planting and harvesting for many years a large active apple and cherry farm and managing a cattle ranch in Kennewick, where they enjoyed producing some of the best apples and cherries in the state of Washington. He also actively guided and helped all his kids and many relatives and friends to be successful. His ethical standards were unshakeable.
All three of J.F. and Gladys children enjoyed the Tri Cities in Washington State through their youth in a very family-centered atmosphere with lots of love. Shari Lynn is now married and lives in northern California with her husband Raul. Shari is an active quilter, a mother of their son Michael, and a wife of 44 years. Her two brothers Jeffrey and Larry have had six children and three grandchildren. They are retired respectively from careers in accounting and as an electrical contractor respectively. Jeffrey lives in the Seattle area and Larry lives in Kennewick.
JF Moore is truly a great example of the words of the famous poet Robert Browning who said in the 1800s "Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, Or what's a heaven for?" He set a high bar for his children and those that formed families with them. He equally set high bars of decency for his customers as well as for his friends and colleagues.
He leaves behind in his former ranch in Kennewick an area where people can reside in peace in a beautiful suburban setting that his wife Gladys named "Apple Valley" so that the people who now have homes there where a housing development replaced his farm and ranch, can dream of beautiful apple and cherry trees, great areas for cattle to roam and a great area to raise a family. J. F. Moore has left this Earth but his memory, his ethics, and the things he has created will continue to make our earth a better place to be.
May he rest in peace with Gladys, his loving wife close to him. J.F., we all already miss you.
Graveside service will be Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11:00am at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick.
