Kenneth 'Dale' Stenberg Jr. age 56, of Grandview, WA passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007. He was born July 19, 1951 to Kenneth and Lucille (Kleer) Stenberg in Bellingham, WA.

Dale received his education in Grandview, lettering in football, basketball, track and baseball and graduated with the Class of 1970. On February 5, 1972 he married Diane Freel in Grandview, WA where they together made their home. Dale worked at the Hanford Project for 6 years.

In 1980 Dale was involved in an automobile accident, which left him a quadriplegic. Dale's love of sports continued through his coaching abilities, leading his AAU basketball team to the National Championship for 3 years. He was also an assistant coach for Grandview Middle School in both Baseball and Basketball. Dale was actively involved in his children's sporting events, as their #1 fan and sideline official. He spent his time at home supervising his family and adding any necessary one-liners to spice up the day. In his spare time he loved watching sporting events and an occasional episode of the Days Of Our Lives. Dale loved time spent with his family and cherished his granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Stenberg of Grandview, WA, one son, Chad Stenberg of Spokane, WA, one daughter, Jamie Smasne and husband, Brent of Prosser and granddaughter, Ava Smasne. He is also survived by his brother, Darrel Stenberg of Grandview and sister, Sharon Rogers of Montana. Dale is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Willie Stenberg.

Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, January 3, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview, WA. Graveside Services will be held Friday, January 4, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Grandview Cemetery, Grandview, WA.

Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
