He was born on June 23, 1959, in Pendleton, OR, and spent most of his life living in Walla Walla, the Tri-Cities and most recently Tacoma, WA. He graduated from Columbia High School and attended Columbia Basin College. Owen was employed by Costco Wholesale.
Owen's favorite activities and most pleasant memories included playing music, drums and entertaining, as well as playing, coaching, and officiating ice hockey, softball, football and baseball. Owen was a part of many sports teams and associations and had fond memories of all his teammates and friends who inspired his participation. He also enjoyed swimming, golfing, camping, boating, fishing, the Oregon Coast and Any Good Party!
Owen is survived by his loving family: wife Celia; children Chad and Ashli; stepchildren Mitchell and Rachael Worby; nephew Marcus and niece Danielle Warner; father Ed Hacker; mother Etta Jamison; brothers Mark and Bryan Warner and Ralph Hacker; and special friends Rob Thornton and Karen Cruz; as well as many other friends and relatives. As Owen's journey came to a close, he wished to thank his loving family and friends for the memories and the way each of you touched his heart.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Rainier Oncology and Good Samaritan Hospice for their tender care and efforts to keep Owen comfortable in his final days.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Cathedral of Joy, 1153 Gage Blvd., Richland, WA, on Saturday, November 13, 2004, commencing at 1 pm. A reception and celebration of Owen's life will follow at the Shilo Inn, 50 Comstock, Richland, WA, beginning at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances may be made to Owen's suggested charity Children's Hospital with Costco Guild getting credit. Celia, Chad, Ashli, and Etta - We are so sorry for your loss. Owen was such a special person and will always be remembered for his fun loving outlook on life. We were so inspired by his attitude this summer. I always remember growing up how he always had that beautiful smile I know he is looking over us all now with that awesome smile. Keep the memories close and may God bless you all.

My sincere condolences to Owen's family. I never knew him personally, but I watched him drum at Highlands Middle School when I was in 8th grade there. He was playing with the Kamiakin Jazz Band. I'll never forget his drum solo on "Hawaii Five O". It was awesome! Rest in peace Owen.
