Gregory L. Sisk

Gregory L. Sisk, age 49, of West Frankfort, Illinois passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois at 7:10 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011. He was born June 28, 1962 to LeRoy and Phyllis Miller Sisk in Christopher, IL. He attended West Frankfort schools and was also a graduate of FCHS; Greg enjoyed and loved basketball and golfing; the main thing in his last 22 years on Earth were spent studying the word of God; he enjoyed listening to Christian CD's that were made and sent to him weekly and were a blessing to him; he loved being able to listen to his pastor, Brother Hilderbrands, sermons; veteran of US Marines which he joined after high school. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leroy sr. and Nellie Sisk; maternal grandparents, Joe and Dorothy Miller; sister, Natalie Sisk; step-father, Roger Young; special friend, Bro. Timothy Barfield. He is survived by his parents: LeRoy (Linda) Sisk, and Phyllis Young; caregiver for 15 years, Thelma Darnell; cousin and caregiver, Robyn Miller; friends in his church at First Apostolic Faith Assembly. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 at Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort, Illinois with Rev. H.A. Hilderbrand officiating. Interment will be at Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort, Illinois. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon - 2 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 at the funeral home until the time of the service.
