My heartfelt sympathy to Donna's family and the McDonald family.
Jim was a wonderful guy who brought joy to everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. My locker was in the same row as Jimmy's at TCC. Every time he came into the locker room he was singing. It always brought a smile to my face. We had many great conversations about life, careers and sports. Jim loved to talk but was also a great listener and was full of empathy.
Jim will be sorely missed by all his friends and family. He was one of a kind.

I am very sorry and sadden to hear about Jimmy. My sincere condolences to the McDonald family. Jimmy and I were the best of friends growing up as kids on Humiston Ave, and continued to be friends despite heading our separate ways as we grew up. I heard about his illness from friends and family, and did have the pleasure of seeing him at TCC earlier this year. Though we had not seen each other in a few years, we picked up right where we left off the last time we were in touch. I'll never forget the times we spent together as kids. I have many fond memories; getting yelled at by our parents, camping out in our backyards, playing hockey, golf, football on the 14th tee of FPGC, or fighting over something stupid. Growing up in Troy, and being friends with Jimmy made my life just that much better. Thank you for being a life long friend, RIP Jimmy!

Donna, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Although there is no doubt that Jimmy will be missed, I am so glad that I met him....he always took time to chat with me, even though I am from the "wrong side of the river!" The polical conversations will not be the same. That being said, we will continue the conversations in his honor!
And there off !!! Donna & Jim at Saratoga for the races

Jim McDonald - You brought joy to everyone who was lucky to know you. A classy gent, expert sportsman & competitive athlete especially on the links. We loved your style Jim when you engaged in conversation & debate usually at the 19th hole on topics of all sorts with a gleam in your eyes, sharing a cold brew - you always had amusing tales to tell and a good word to say about all, You will be sorely missed my friend. God bless you Jimmy & your "little bundle of joy" & soul mate (my sister) Donna --- and also a prayer for all who have known you as we try to accept the void in our lives upon the news of your abrupt and premature passing. May we meet again on the other side. Sla'n go fo'ill (Gaelic for "Farewell for now")

My condolences to the entire Mcdonald family on the passing of Jim. Having played hockey with Jim for three years at Marist College we got to know each other very well over the years. He was an excellent hockey player and a great friend. I saw him a few years ago at Saratoga and nearly fell over in shock as the preppy country club boy who always wore his polo collar up or 2 shirts on was riding a Harley Davidson and a leather jacket, but thats just they way Jim was...he marched to his beat of his own drum....Be good # 10 Thanks for some great times and memories.

For thirty years I have been honored to have had Jimmy as a colleage and friend. I'll never forget that smile on his face when we would be in meetings and he would tell us all about his, "complicated bundle of joy"! He turned my life around when he introduced me to John. and to you, Donna. Jimmy was such a kind, honest man. I will never forget the times we worked together throughout our careers, but most importantly I will never forget the warmth of his friendship.
Love,
Jane
