Joseph G. Foley

Joseph G. Foley, DDS TROY - Joseph G. Foley, DDS, of Troy, entered into eternal rest on Friday May 17, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Troy, Joe was the son of the late Dr. Hugh V. and Marie Jordan Foley Sr. He was a graduate of the LaSalle Institute in Troy and St. Michael's University in Canada. Joe joined the U.S. Army during WWII and served our country proudly. Upon returning home he decided to continue his education and was accepted to Georgetown University where he earned a degree in dentistry. Following his passion, he opened an office in Troy where he worked until his retirement in 2004. Joe was always the life of any party he enjoyed watching Siena basketball Most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends. Joe was predeceased by his three siblings, Hugh V. Foley, MD., Beatrice M. Foley and John D. Foley, Esq.. He is survived by his nieces and nephews Kate Muller, Bridget Foley, Elizabeth Foley, MD., John Foley, Joseph Foley, Michael Foley, Matt Foley, and Mary Foley. He is also survived by several grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:15 am from the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 3rd St. Troy and at 11 am in Our Lady of Victory Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Internment will follow in St. Mary's cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 2 – 5 pm at the funeral home. Donations in Joe's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd. Albany, NY 12211.
