Edward Stevens Obituary

Edward William Stevens, 57, was born on July 11, 1968 and spent his life in Tucson, Arizona. He passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

After graduating from Pueblo High School, Ed joined the family businesses established by his mom Julie, getting his real estate license and preparing taxes. He was an active Realtor and tax preparer for the rest of his life. One of his greatest pleasures was educating his clients and getting them financially situated for the future.

Ed opened Body Image Gym in 1990 where for the next 10 years his training and guidance helped many improve their physical well-being. He also began powerlifting and competed in team and individual events where he won countless trophies and set many records, some nationally.

In 1997 he was accepted into the Tucson Fire Department, where he promoted to paramedic and then Captain, eventually retiring after 22 ½ years. During his time with the department, he mentored incoming firefighters and successfully led his crew in and out of many structure fires, violent situations and swift water rescues.

He met his beautiful wife Angie when she walked into his gym in 1994. Although they became fast friends, they did not marry until 2001. Together they had 3 amazing children; Iliana, Analisa, and Edward Daniel. Even though Ed's illness compromised the last 4 ½ years of his life, it could not compromise his humor, his zest for life, his fight, and most importantly, his love for his family.

Together we lived our best life, enjoying every minute we had and showing our kids how to love BIG no matter the obstacles life throws our way.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 10 a.m. at San Augustine Cathedral, 192 S Stone Ave. A reception will follow at the Tucson Firefighters Union Hall, 2430 N Huachuca Dr.

Although I only saw Ed once a year to do our taxes. He came highly recommended and once we started working with Ed we quickly trusted him with his professional advice he was always so kind. I have followed Angie´s facebook posts with Ed´s cancer journey. I could feel the BIG love of his family. May Ed rest in eternal peace. My condolences to Angie and the family he will be greatly missed.

Words are inadequate to describe the heartbreak of losing someone as amazing as cousin Teddy. I am grateful for the years and truly hope fond memories will console his family and all who knew and loved him. May we all be together again one day.

Edward and I Were Great Friends From The Time I Was In Jr High and He Was In High School. He and I Shared Countless Adventures. The One Memeory With Him That I Will Cherish Always Is When We Went To the DeAnza Drive In and We Watched A Comedy (Can´t Remember which one) We Were In His Truck And The Windows Were Down And I Was Laughing Hysterically and Loud Mind You, Lol and All of A Sudden He Rolled Up The Windows. I Asked Him Why and He Says "You´re Laughing So Loud You´re Embarrassing Me" I Was Floored and Laughed Even More and Told Him To Roll Them Back Down Cuz He Knew Exactly How I Was and It Shouldn´t Come As A Surprise to Him Needless to Say He Rolled Them Down and We Laughed and Finished The Movie. We Saw Many Others After That but Not Very Many Comedies Unfortunately . I Love And Miss You More Than I Can Say Ed. Rest In Paradise. See You When I See You
