Kenneth Jaeger

Kenneth Jaeger Peacefully entered into rest on March 22, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer. Born June 6, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to father Arthur Jaeger and mother Anna Priebe, he enlisted in the Navy on his 17th birthday, and served the remainder of WWII in the South Pacific. After discharge, he attended Northern Illinois University on the G. I. Bill where he received both his bachelor's and master's degrees in education. There he met his wife, Arlene Jessie Wass. They wed on December 10, 1948 and remained happily married until his passing. They moved to Tucson in 1958 where he taught math, science and data processing at Catalina High School until his retirement in 1986. Ken also owned and operated a tax, bookkeeping and accounting service for many years. Ken was a avid golfer and outdoorsman. He loved to hike, hunt and run rivers with his children and co-workers, often building his own rafts. His hobbies included reading, walking, bowling, bike riding and bridge. After retirement, Ken and Arlene traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad, visiting such places as Europe, Russia and China. Ken is survived by his wife Arlene; sons, Kenneth John (Dana), James and Paul; daughter, Sue Johnson; six grandchildren (pre-deceased by one) and nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in his name to the Community Food Bank, the Red Cross or Casas de los Nino's Services will be Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at HUDGEL'S SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 1335 S. Swan Road, in Tucson.
