Randal Soderstrom Obituary

Randal L Soderstrom June 8, 2014, San Diego, CA, while resting peacefully at his home overlooking the San Diego skyline, harbor and Point Loma, Randy finished his 14 month fight with lymphoma. His battle was valiant and it was his spirit that kept himself and everyone else going. His wish was to thank his friends and family for their support and love as it made the struggle bearable. Randy was transferred to Tucson by American Airlines in 1991 where he remained until his early retirement in 2012. Active in many groups and organizations, he was most proud to be the founding chairperson of the Alliance Fund of the Community Foundation of southern Arizona. Randy is survived by his life partner, Stephen Quinlan; parents, Rod and Dorothy Soderstrom; siblings, Rick (Lois) Soderstrom, Rhonda (Don) Booth, Robyn (Bobby) Nelson and Reed (Thora) Soderstrom. He will especially miss his beloved nieces and nephews, Danelle, Christopher, Ben, John, Elissa, Kalin, Elynn, Aretha and Austin. Memorial Services were private with family. A gathering of friends in his honor will be Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. For details email [email protected]
