Roland Dee SHERLOCK

1934 - 2016

SHERLOCK, Roland Dee born April 6, 1934 born in Alliance, Nebraska passed September 28, 2016 in Tucson, AZ. Active in sports at Ogalala High School where he lettered in Football, Basketball and Track. He married his high school sweetheart, Sheila Hoffman in Jewelsberg, Colorado. They were married 58 years and is preceded in death by Sheila; daughter, Janine and granddaughter, Meggie Jo Sherlock. He is survived by children, Joe Sherlock, Jacque Smith, Jeri Sherick and Jamie Sherlock; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Roland and Sheila lived in Nebraska before arriving in Tucson in 1957. He joined the Local 469 Pipefitters Union in 1966. He worked in several copper mines and the Alaska Pipeline. He enjoyed family outings to the mountains or desert. He most enjoyed watching sports on TV. Visitation is Friday, September 30, 2016 4:00 p.m. -6:00 p.m., Desert Sunset Funeral Home, 3081 W. Orange Grove Rd., Entombment at Holy Hope Mausoleum, Saturday October 1, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to Alzheimer's Association Desert Southwest Chapter, 1159 N.
