Dear Harriet
I never go by CCUM without thinking about Bill at the door with his huge smile
I look at the Chapel and remember playing Amazing Grace for him so many times
I do this almost every day and say a little prayer for you
Sending you lots of Love

I only knew Bill from the tennis courts but it was quickly obvious he was kind, good humored, and a gentleman through and through.
But, he did have a mean drop shot.
I wish I had been able to say this at the service, but I have difficulty speaking before strangers.

Bill was, and always will be to me, a man who showed the true spirit of a man who loved God. He showed everyone, by his total, continuous caring. Not to mention, the award winning smile. When I pass CCUM I think of Bill standing there. I send you my love and support.

We only knew Bill from tennis but it wasn't long until he proved what a gentleman and good humored human being he was. We will miss him.

Harriet, I consider you one of my biggest fans. Bill asked me twice if I was writing another novel--you wanted to know. That's twice as many requests as I ever got.

Harriet, I remember Bill from when we both worked for Tucson Water Dept many years ago. What a fine man--of course you know that so well. He was also so friendly and cheerful. May God bless you and give you comfort. May we all remember his wonderful smile and loving spirit. Karen Alff (Water Director's Office back in the 1990's)

I walked into church Sunday morning and immediately missed Bill's presence, his joy, his precious smile, and welcoming hands and heart. I cannot begin to imagine the sense of loss his family is experiencing, but my heart reaches out to you as you mourn his loss, and my prayers are for you to hold dear the memories with the hope of a heavenly reunion with him. Bill's smile and charm will be greatly missed by those of CCUM and Devon gables. My lasting memory of Bill will be standing in the back of the church singing hymns with his arm on my shoulder. I know he is at peace now but will miss him dearly.

Dear Harriet, We are so deeply saddened by Bill's passing. I've been praying for his recovery. He seemed so confidant that he could beat this the last time we talked, but that was Bill also.
He was my number 1 tennis partner and friend. Dee and I will miss him greatly. Don & Dee Hartranft
