I was extremely saddened to hear of the tragic death of Joe. Although it has been many years since I've seen him, I remember him as if it were yesterday - such a fun-loving, kind, and gentle fellow that always made you laugh. My prayers are with Tullahoma and all who were fortunate to have been part of his family!

Jimmy, you nailed it. From barbershop in the arcade to Cascade Field and beyond. Couldn't begin to count the ball games we played, up the middle, the Japanese Claw, and generally goofing off. One thing we never did was watch TV. We were always too busy for that! But we did listen to Brenda's copy of the Beatles "I wanna hold your hand" once. Ha,ha the only music we probably ever shared.

Joe and I have been friends since 1958 when we played together on the Dodgers Little League. I don't know how many games we played together through the years. We were on the same team not only in Little League but also Babe Ruth (13 to 15 years) and Connie Mack Baseball (16 to 18 years). Memories are too numerous to mention. He was my best childhood friend. We often took turns spending the night at one another's home. I loved his Mom and Dad. His Dad Ira, was a barber who's shop was located in the alley near Duck's Pool Room. He must have cut my hair over a hundred times from 1958 to 1968. Outside of baseball, Joe and I were big wrestling fans. His favorite was Tojo Yamamotto. My favorite was "Fabulous" Jackie Fargo. We constantly had wrestling matches and when Tojo got the famous 'Japanese claw" on my belly, it was all over. My Mother actually banned Joe from our house because we broke a table once wrestling!! Boy, the memories. Joe was a BIG part of my childhood and I thank God he was a part of my life!Everyone should have a friend like Joe!!
