Eugena Eng Obituary

Eng, Eugena Capehart

Aug 12, 1937 - Oct 19, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Jean Capehart Eng, who left this world peacefully to go home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus at the age of 87, on October 19, 2024. Born August 12, 1937 in Galena, Kansas to Samuel and Mary Jane Capehart, she was preceded in death by her "ku'uipo," best friend and devoted husband of 51 years, Don Eng. She is survived by her four children, daughter, Debi Emery and husband Bill, grandson Brian Emery (Cassidy), great grandchildren Grace, Parker and Willard, granddaughter Allison Wilson (Alex), great grandchildren Brooks, Brayden and Elliot, granddaughter Katie Toews (Kevin), great grandchildren Adelaide, Emery, Isaac and Jacob, daughter Melanie Price, granddaughter Kasey, grandson Zac (Taylor), daughter Stephanie Allen and husband Jack, son Michael Eng and wife Sasha, granddaughters Gabriella, Olivia and Eva, and many nieces, nephews, family and loved ones. Her brother was the late Barney Capehart of Gainesville, Florida.

Jean was a graduate of Will Rogers High School. In her teens, she fell in love with the handsome neighbor boy across the street, Donald Eng. At the age of 18, they were married and the two began an adventure in Japan, where they lived on the officer's naval base while Don served in the US Navy. Jean started her professional career as a medical secretary for her father Dr. Sam Capehart. Later, she and Don became Oklahoma Real Estate Commission licensed agents and both began working at Sunshine Properties. She transitioned from selling houses to partnering with Don in a homebuilding business, initially called Cornerstone Properties: Mansions for the Father's Children and later Don Eng Homes, where one of her many areas of expertise was interior design and decoration.

Jean led a women's Bible study group at Sheridan Christian Center and later Victory Christian Center. She was an ordained minister with Prophetic Worship Center in Naples, Florida, a graduate of Tulsa School of Kingdom Ministry and a Christian book author. Jean loved to give her time to others and was a volunteer and prayer partner at Eugene Field Elementary School until her final days.

While in Sasebo, Japan with Don, she spent time floral arranging. She and Don were in square dance clubs and were seasoned big band and ballroom dancers. She loved to dance, but her favorite pastime was always reading her Bible, studying her concordances and learning more about God's Word. She had a deep love for the Lord, serving and walking alongside Him her entire life. This strong foundation in Christ was instilled in her four children and passed down to generations that followed.

Jean had a giving spirit and always wanted to share and spread joy, with a hug, a treat or even a prophetic Word. She was a pillar of strength for her family and touched the lives of countless others with her unwavering faith, exuberant joy and compassion for everyone she knew. Her wisdom, intercessory prayer and overflowing love will be greatly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege to know her.

A visitation with family will be held at Moore Southlawn on Friday, November 1 from 4:00-6:00pm. Graveside services for Jean will be at Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, November 2, at 10:00am. A celebration of life service will be at First Methodist Church on Saturday, November 2, at 1:00pm. For those that are not able to attend the service, a live stream will be available on Jean's website at: jeancapeharteng.com. Moore Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at www.moorefuneral.com

Jean, there are no words for the King´s daughter!!! You are with the Lord Jesus and I know from growing up with you in my life and being my spiritual mother that led me to the Holy Spirit at 12 years of age. You always, ALWAYS WALKING IN THE LOVE OF GOD! I knew I was loved by you unconditionally and cherish and know what a gift in my life I had with a spiritual mother like you! And to add to that... you and my mother introduced your two daughters that she (Melanie) I and became best friends forever. Such a gift! I know we will worship together in Heaven one day and I just couldn´t begin to tell you how grateful and thankful I am for your love that you gave me and showed me. There is no one like you! I love you with all my heart!. In the King´s arms you are!!!
