To All families of Phil Ellis, I met Phil and his family just once on a trip out west for Thanksgiving a few years back. It was a long trip I believe it was for 3 or 4 days including Thanksgiving holiday.(which the trip home was wild). When we left Pittsburgh, Joe, Lynda, Rico, Joey, and myself we all piled in my van. I remember I was nervous going to spend a few days with people I had never met. Well, from the time we arrived there Phil and Deidre made me feel like one of the family. We had a great Thanksgiving. I will never forget that weekend. I know Phil will be missed by all and like alot of my friends that have passed on, JUST KNOWING THEY'LL BE THERE, WILL MAKE IT EASY TO GO HOME!

MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL... Bobby

Dear Deidre,

My most sincere sympathy to you and your family. I worked closely with Phil during his last 5 years with Mobil, and I was fortunate to get to know a truly great person. Phil brought dedication, honesty, and a smile to everything he did. I will always remember the great things he accomplished, but even more so, the outstanding way that he did them. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Sincerely,

Lenn Eason

Dear Deidre,

Phil was one of the most honest, sincere and loyal persons that I have ever known. I was privileged to have known him since I first came to Mobil in l982. We hit it off immediately and became friends. I often visited with him on business matters but when we were done, he talked fondly and lovingly of his "angels", you, Andrea and Amber. I will always remember Phil and the good times we shared and if you and your family ever need anything, you can always count on me. God bless and keep you always!

It is with great sorrow to learn we have lost another friend. We have known Phil since he came to Mobil and as you know better than anyone else, he was a prince. May your memories of his good humor and good sense give you and your family great strength. Bless You, Bill & Martha

I was deeply saddened to hear about Phil. My sincerest of thoughts are with you and your family. Although I have not seen you in many, many years, please know that I will always remember and appreciate the years spent in Shawnee KS with you and Phil as neighbors, and the cherished friendships that were made while living at Trailridge. The experiences are memorable, fun and lasting.

Best regards,

Tom

Even though we can't be with you physically, we are with you in our hearts, sharing the loss of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. We are also sharing in the wonderful joy, knowing that Phil has reached his ultimate achievement, the glory of life ever after. Imagine the joy that he and Betty will know when they are again re-united. He will also smile lovingly at his mother and his father, and do a little happy jig with his two nephews. Yes, there will be much celebrating in heaven and knowing this we must not mourn too long, nor too much. Phil would have none of that. We must all unite in our love for him and our love for one another, celebrating our lives and nourishing our families. Phil was my brother, yet he was much more than that to me. He was the father I never had. He was the confidant I always needed. He was my support in frustrating times. He was my best friend. Looking back at the times we had growing up, it's amazing to wonder how we survived with all our body parts intact, well, almost all of them (remembering when he lost the tip of his finger). When Phil didn't want to go to school, he would push me into a puddle of water, getting me soaking wet, so we had to turn around and go home, with a good excuse! There were many times and many secrets we shared, all part of being brothers. We may not have lived in close proximity to one another, but we were close in our love for one another. We both gloried in our families, sharing things thru the miles about our children, visiting when we could. As life progressed and we both became Grandfathers, we also shared those precious little things that our beloved grandchildren would do, bringing a smile to both our faces. Yes, we will all miss Phil and we will continue to remember him thru our lives, loving him forever. Boat on through the heavens, Phil!
