Robert Davis Obituary

Robert "Dillon" Davis

Robert "Dillon" Davis was born October 29, 1981, in Tulsa, son of Mark Davis and Cecilia Davis Gifford. He passed too soon, at the age of 40. Dillon was married to Danita Isom on his 30th birthday, so that he would "not ever forget his anniversary". Dillon attended School of Saint Mary and graduated Cascia Hall Preparatory School. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

All who knew Dillon knew his big smile and boisterous laugh. His sisters recall belly laughs so hard they hurt during late-nights playing golf cart hide-and-seek at the lake. His friends and family cherish unforgettable moments sharing Dillon's love of music at Dave Matthews, O.A.R. and Pat Green concerts. Dillon was a kid at heart, joining his boys on their level to do "all the boy things" - Star Wars lightsaber duels, video games, crawdad hunting, and especially fireworks, appropriate because he loved his country dearly.

He hosted numerous social events at his house in Norman while serving as Rush Chairman for Sigma Chi. His home also served as a poker & Fantasy Football hub where his near-photographic memory served him well. Dillon discovered his familial love for food service while in Norman as he began working for the family business, The United States Beef Corporation. Dillon developed the catering business for Arby's used throughout the country. He worked with uncles, cousins, and thousands of dedicated employees and helped to grow US Beef into the largest franchise in the Arby's system. He was grateful to his family and proud to be a part of their success.

Dillon loved and was loved by a very large family: parents, wife and sons, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and his brothers of Sigma Chi. His dearest achievement during all this richness of life was the birth of his and Danita's son, Eli Oscar Davis. He was a kind, gentle and playful father to Eli, who now exhibits these same wonderful attributes in his young life.

Children who were fortunate to feel Dillon's love were his son, Eli Oscar Davis, 10, and twin stepchildren, Wyatt Roger and Cameron Dean Kirkendall, 14. Other immediate surviving family members include his wife, Danita Davis; father, Mark Davis (Celeste); mother, Cece Davis Gifford (Jim); and sisters, Connie Davis Bendel (Matt) and Lindsay Davis Mittelholzer (Pete). He is preceded in death by his uncle, Jeff Davis, and his grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Laird and Robert and Connie Davis.

The family wishes to thank all of their friends and extended family for prayers, love and support during this most difficult time. Friends may honor Dillon with memorial contributions to Tulsa Community Food Bank, Parent Child Center of Tulsa, and Tulsa Boys Home.

After a private service, a Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 14th from 11:00 am â€"1:30 pm at Southern Hills Country Club. All are welcome to celebrate Dillon with his family. www.fitzgeraldfuneralservice.com

Mark and CeCe: So hard to express how I feel for you. You are now at your sons' service and I can not imagine the grief. I want to tell you how wonderful you both are, and hope that you can move on with the grace you both have. I know that is saying too much for the future, but every day, I hope your burden is lightened. Peace be with you both.

We are sincerely so sorry for your loss.
Dillion was a source of laughter and light for us . His smile and wit were so much fun all those carpool years. The minute he got into the car, the mood would change to excitement!!
Just an exceptional young man. May God bless you all with His peace, comfort and flood your hearts with wonderful memories of his vibrant life.

CeCe and Mark, we are all so sorry for your loss of Dillon. I remember the St Mary´s car pool with all the kids and seeing you, CeCe, running through the Patrick Henry neighborhood. We can´t bring our loved ones back but can remember the Memories forever. To lose a child, however, is incomprehensible and I will pray for you to eventually have peace. I´m so sorry.
