My heart and prayers go out to the Blakey family. Words can't describe this man, he truly was one of a kind. He helped many many people throughout his life including my son who he put on his State Fair Police Force. I loved seeing him and many family members at Viking football games. As the Viking assistant photographer for 24 years, I looked forward to capturing that family photo moment for him. I love you Art and will miss you very much. RIP

St Paul, the Minnesota State Fair, Sheriffs Department, and the State of Minnesota has lost a wonderful man, a great Husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend to so many.
Carolyn, Janelle, Arty, and Brooke, I wanted to let you know that for my self, my children, and 45 years of Fresh French Fry workers we are all so grateful that we had the oppertunity to get to know a real professional and gentleman.
I will always cherish the many memories of spending time with Art at the Fair and all the Winter Carnival events. I am so fortunate to have had Art as friend for so many years.
The world has lost a Prince of a man.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Honored to have been on Art's train! RIP
The Train of our Life:
Life is like a journey on a train, with its stations, with changes of routes, and their accidents!
At birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe that they will always travel on our side, but at some station they will get down leaving us in this journey alone.
In the same way other people will board, and they will be significant: our siblings, friends, children and even the love of our life. Many will get down and leave a permanent vacuum.
Others go so unnoticed that neither we realize that they vacated their seats!
This trip will be full of joy, sorrows, fantasies, expectations, goodbyes and farewells.
Success consists in having a good relationship with all passengers, give the best of us. The great mystery to everyone is we do not know which station we will get down, so we must live in the best way, love, forgive, offer the best of us ... So, when the time comes to get down and leave our seat empty, we should leave beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life!!

Brooke,
My sympathies to the entire Blakey family and loved ones. As many others have said, your dad lived a life of serving his family and community. His life and love of family and community lives on through you all. He had a full, life of favor and helped a lot of folks along the way too. The fruits of his love shall continue to nourish many. I hope that this, and all your memories of him, will comfort you during this time of sorrow. Sending lots of love and hugs. He is resting comfortably and in peace.
