Dear Mr Skoog:

Stopping by to wish you well and to thank you for Baudette and how you helped shape MN. Your wife was my second grade teacher who taught me cursive, which I still use today. We moved down to Apple Valley, MN in 1984. I also knew Mark and the vampire bat you gave him for his birthday. :-) All my best. Grant Dustin Olson

Hi Kathryn,

One of my friends from work just called to tell me about Dan. Please accept my condolences.

Our paths originally crossed when Dan was in the pool cover business. We did a project together for the Glencoe School District. Our work relationship also turned into a friendship. We golfed a few times, but never enough. We had lunch a few times, but not frequently enough. And, we corresponded via e-mail, but that too wasn't often enough. I always enjoyed Dan's company! I will miss him.

I wrote to Dan just a week to 10 days ago, telling him of my finally leaving fulltime employment of the business that I started 29 years ago, Climate Makers. I thought it unusual to have not heard from him. He usually had something smart to say about most situations.

It's 3:30 on Monday afternoon and, again, I just read the details about Dan's passing and the 4:00 service. I apologize for not being there.

Dan was one of those people that I was glad to have called my friend!

Best wishes to you and your family.
