I just read today's paper and realized Homer has passed on. What a wonderful role model he was for me as I was growing up in Plymouth, just down the road from the Bonhiver family. I will revere Homer's memory. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Grandpa your legacy will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life. I would not be where I am today without the wisdom, support and leadership you guided our family with. I will passionately live my life to honor your memory.

My dad was an amazing father. He loved his family very much and expressed this in many ways over the years. He was respected by many and he dramatically improved the lives of many. He was my mentor up until the end of his long, productive life.

I recall with great appreciation being hired by Homer's CPA firm in 1965. It led to a successful career with a school district and a meaningful life.

Homer was my best friend for over 50 years. I am so happy that he was able to attend the graduation party of my granddaughters, Jessica and Catherine, in June. I will really miss him.

I firmly believe that one of the reasons Dad lived such a long fulfilling life was because he always kept active. At my high school graduation, several of my friends were amazed to see my dad dressed up. They had never seen him not in his gardening clothes and without his wheelbarrow! Once he sold our family home after our mom died, he switched to daily riding his bike. He loved spending the winters in Arizona so he could keep biking every day all year round. Dad, you were an inspiration to all of us! You will be missed by many. I love you, Nanette

The twinkle in Uncle Homer's intelligent eyes always reminded me of my Dad, and I enjoyed hearing Homer's stories about their family and their adventures while they were growing up. When I'm in my 90s I hope to be riding steam trains in the California redwoods, like he did earlier this year when he visited us. Thanks, Uncle Homer!

All of us in the Lord family will miss Homer and his wonderful smile and laugh. He helped us all in dealing with our family business. Most of all he was a wonderful friend to Miles. They traveled together, worked together and depended on one another for an entire lifetime. We are all very sad to lose him.

Grandpa, you were very special to our family. Thanks for the awesome breakfasts we shared at Paul Bunyan's in the Wisconsin Dells. Your generosity was amazing.
