October 10, 2014

Hi Paul, Nathan, and Gretchen: I have been thinking of you and your father most every day since you called me. Uncle "Dick" to most of his family was my favorite uncle. He always showed genuine interest in me even when I was a small kid. When on leave from the navy he would come visit us and would give me latest judo moves he had learned in Japan. I believe he earned his "brown belt" while there. When I would visit during summers, he would take me and cousins over to the river (missouri) to a swimming hole. Many fine and fun memories. He will be missed. I hope all of you can find peace and comfort soon. Allen Loyd (nephew).

Dear Nate,
I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. From what I have read about him, he sounds like a gem. I pray it bring you and your family some comfort knowing this is only temporary. One day you all will reunite with your dad again. Lean on one another, and give your mom lots of hugs.

My deepest sympathy. God Bless you and your family...

Very sorry for all of you that he passed away. I remember him vaguely in the hockey rink lounges waiting with all the other parents. Obviously he was a good man, husband, and father. 56 years is a long time to be with your partner, boys, take care of your mom.
Nate, see you soon under better circumstances.
