I just now heard of Kristie's death, and I am heartsick. Kristie hired me at Ecolab in 1973 and became my mentor and trusted friend. There is probably no one that I respected more, personally and professionally, than Kristie. She knew how to handle the most difficult situation, gave great guidance and advice, was never judgmental, and was a model of wisdom, calm, and grace. Most importantly, we laughed together. I have countless memories of our lunches, dinners, escapades. After I moved to California we continued to exchange personal Christmas letters packed with updates on family, work, feelings. This year, I didn't receive my usual holiday letter from her and I knew something was amiss. I extend my heartfelt condolences to Gary, to her sisters, to her entire family.

While I hadn't satyed in touch in recent years, Kristie was a client and a colleague in PRSA for many years. She was a wonderful counselor and always had such a calm and measured presence about her. She left an impression on those she met and will be missed.

I will always miss Kristie because she was always so easy to talk to. I could tell her my problems and then she would give the best advice without judgement. I loved to see her smile and oh, how she gave parties and holidays to family. It was sad to see her go at such a young age, but I am glad she is in a more peaceful realm of life. She deserved to be happy in every way possible. She was my best friend and like a second mom to me as well. May she rest in peace forever.

So sorry for your loss. May the God "of all comfort" (2 Cor. 1:3,4) provide what you need at this sad time.

May we all look forward to the times when 1 Cor. 15:26 comes true.

Kristie and I met as freshmen at UMD searching for our French class. We studied together, were francophiles together and traveled together. She and Gary shared Christmas and birthdays with my family. Kristie and I have been friends and more for 46 years. We laughed together and shared our lives and hoped to grow old rocking on our front porches and making pithy comments. She will be missed. She was a wonderful person.

I worked with Kristie when we were both in the Personnel Dept. at Ecolab. I admired her professionalism and ability to handle any situation. She had a wonderful twinkle in her eyes when she smiled. Haven't seen her in years, but have wonderful memories of her.

Kristie volunteered many times to help judge IABC awards with me. She was a great talent and made significant contributions to the communication profession. Her contributions were many and included serving at chapter president in Minnesota in the early 70s. My thoughts are with her family and many friends.

I took a class from Kristie at St.Thomas years ago and had a nice reunion with her while she was writing a few articles for 3M years later. She remembered me! I didn't know her well, but enjoyed her sense of humor and friendly approach to her job. My sincere condolences to her family.

Kristie was a good friend, an insightful mentor (even though younger than me)--an amazing person all around. In many ways and all circumstances, she made me feel better than I am. I will never forget her, and especially think of her in peach season, using her peach pie recipe--a passion we shared, along with writing and reading.

While I only knew Kristie a few short years she was one of the people who really shared what it was to be an "EL'er". She was the editor for EL TODAY in 1978 when she published an article about M.J. Osborn and his sale of a truck to my Grandfather. My memory is of a very professional person who worked with enthusiasm and yet a very friendly personality. May you have peace and comfort along with the memories of a great person.

I was so sad to hear of Kristie's passing. I remember her from our mutual days at Economics Laboratory (now Ecolab). We worked together when she wrote a couple articles on our computer center for EL TODAY, the company's monthly publication. We also worked together on a benefits task force. It was a real pleasure working with her on these activities. I last saw Kristie in February 2008 at an Ecolab get-together in Arizona. RIP

I worked with Kristie in my early career at Ecolab in the 80's. It was a pleasure to work with her. In fact, Kristie hosted our Communications group at her home every December. She had a great soul. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
