My condolences to Adela and Ted's family. When Ted was a young boy living in New Ulm, our families would get together on a regular basis. Later, after the Miller family moved to South St. Paul, I would spend a week or two at the Miller home during summer vacations. The two things I remember most about those years is being able to play on Ted, Tom and Jack's baseball teams while I was visiting and picking berries at Schmidt's farm. As is the case with most families, I lost contact with Ted until we retired. We started playing golf together with Ted's brother, Jack, in Redwood Falls. The two hour trips to Redwood is when I really got to know Ted. I discovered an interesting, talented man who had an intense devotion to his family, his dogs, and his job. He would tell me how he was busier in retirement than when he was working because he had people wanting him to help them with remodel projects. Of course, Ted was the kind of person who had difficulty saying no to friends. I enjoyed those golf trips because I had the opportunity to get to know who Ted Miller really was. I discovered a kind, interesting, family man with great conviction. He possessed the kind of conviction that commanded respect. In that regard, Ted reminded me of his Dad, Butch, who was always ready for a good discussion on politics etc... Ted was truly a unique man.
