Dixie Hall Obituary

DIXIE SUE PHILLIPS HALL Dixie Sue Phillips Hall, aged 78, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, peacefully surrounded by her family at Uintah Care Center in Vernal, Utah. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Dixie was born on December 29, 1946, at the Duchesne County Hospital to Russell "Bob" Nathan and Joyce "Dolly" Phillips. She loved growing up on her family's farm surrounded by an apple orchard, with sheep, chickens, and a horse that she loved named "Chile." She adored being the only girl growing up with five brothers. She was very close to her father who nicknamed her "Sue City Sue," and she dearly loved her mother whom she spent nearly every day with most of her life. Dixie was taught the value of hard work on the farm and began one of her first jobs at 7 11 Ranch Restaurant in Vernal, Utah. It was there in 1968 that she met her husband and the love of her life Mitchiel Hall. They married in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 10, 1969, and together they happily raised three children. She was the very definition of selflessness a quiet, steady presence who always put the needs of others before her own. Whether it was family, friends, or even strangers, she gave her time, her energy, and her love without hesitation. She spent her life caring for others, never asking for anything in return. As a mother, grandmother, and friend, she was the one you could always count on the one who made everyone feel safe, seen, and deeply loved. Being a caretaker wasn't just something she did it was who she was, through and through. As kind and selfless as she was, she also had a fiery spirit when it came to protecting her loved ones. She never hesitated to stand up for her family and wasn't afraid to speak her mind when it mattered most. Her fierce loyalty and strength were just as defining as her gentle heart. In 1994, Dixie devoted her life to her faith in the Lord and made it the cornerstone of all that she did. She leaned on it during good times and bad. Her devotion to God was evident in the way she lived and the way she treated others. Whether it was her strong prayers or leaning on the Word of God, her faith was paramount to who she was. Reading the Psalms was a favorite pastime. Her legacy lives on in all of us as a devoted mother and grandmother, she shaped our lives with her love, strength, and example. She taught us what it means to care deeply, to stand strong, and to live with faith and compassion. We are better people because of her, and her influence will live in our hearts forever. Dixie's family would like to thank all who have expressed love and support during this time. Everyone from family and friends to beloved church memberswe appreciate We would like to thank the staff at BeeHive Homes of Vernal and Uintah Care Center. We appreciate each one who worked to help our mom enjoy every day of her life. The family members would like to especially thank Stacy, Lanie, Daryl, Courtney, and Kenzie for taking care of our grandma (the way she cared for all of us in life) during her final days. Dixie is survived by her children, Stacy Hadlock, Roosevelt; Lanie (Daryl) Hancock, Wolf Creek, NC; Rennie Hall, Roosevelt; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren with three on the way; her brother, Craig Phillips, Roosevelt; sister-in-law, Lois Lems, Bluffdale; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Mitchiel Hall; her parents, Russell "Bob" Nathan Phillips and Joyce "Dolly" Casper Phillips; her brothers, Doug Phillips, Kenneth Phillips, Billy Phillips, and Steve Phillips; sisters-in-law, Janice Phillips and Barbara Phillips.
