With its classic atmosphere of Downeast charm, the inn continues as a special meeting place for Allen family members, friends and many loyal repeat guests. As Barbara loved to relate, some of the Eggemoggin's most colorful memories involved the times she shared with her pride and joy, her faithful black Labrador, "Adios."Barbara Allen will be sadly missed by her husband, Ned Allen of Little Deer Isle and Tequesta, Fla.; as well as her aunt, Helen Horn; her uncle, Chester Brach; cousins, nieces and nephews in the Manchester, N.H., area; and also by the family of her sister-in-law, Jane Carlson (Russell) of Bristol, N.H.Barbara Allen was preceded in death by her parents and her only brother, Donald Boradhead..

Bobby was more than my trusted friend, she was a scholar, an athlete, a mentor, better than a sister, and would sometimes talk to me as a mother...
I will always look upon our times together and smile, because in her classic style, she could always ignite a chuckle, or a least provoking thought. Here's to you dear friend... Peace & Love, Linda Kirt and family
