MANCHESTER - George E. Marshall, 82, died May 11, 2009, at Elliot Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Townsend, Mass., on Jan. 9, 1927, the son of Leon and Ruth Marshall.
Prior to retirement, he had worked for Nabisco for more than 25 years.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Elliot Senior Center. He was an avid Celtics and Red Sox fan.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen G. (Zarsky) Marshall, in 2007.
IN HIS LIFE: The family includes three children, Daniel E. Marshall and his wife, Susan, of Manchester, Bonnie M. Edmonds and her late husband, Robert, of Scituate, Mass., and David A. Marshall and his wife, Ann, of Manchester; three grandchildren, Ryan Marshall, Abby Laughlin and Matt Marshall; one great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Laughlin, all of Manchester; one brother, Leon S. Marshall Jr. of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A funeral service is Thursday at noon in J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St., Manchester.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Townsend Mass., at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Neely House, Tufts New England Medical Center, 750 Washington St., Boston, Mass. 02111.
