Jackson MacKenzie Obituary
In addition to his husband and parents, Jackson will be greatly missed by his brother Doug (Joely) MacKenzie, of Hudson, NH, and his sister Lydia MacKenzie, of Boulder, CO, as well as his paternal grandparents, Doug and Nancy MacKenzie, of Manchester, NH, his parents-in-law, Valerie Ahern (Tom Dinoto) and Robert Delaney (Paula Niedermann), his sister-in-law, Erica (Aaron) Bliven, his young nephews, Scott MacKenzie and Ace and Maxwell Bliven, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his parents' cat, Angel, which he adored. Jackson was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Donald and Carol Robinson.
After graduating from The Derryfield School, Jackson studied computer science at Northeastern University, where he began his more than decade long career at Akamai Technologies. During this time, Jackson also found success as a writer, using his talent, creativity, and personal experiences to publish six books between two separate genres.
Jackson will be forever remembered for his incredible kindness, his wonderful humor, his impressive intellect, and the abundance of love that he endlessly shared with family, friends, and animals. The goodness of Jackson's spirit was immediate to all who met him, and his exemplary character will always inspire us to live fully, love deeply, and help others.

JACKSON K. MACKENZIE was an amazing man. I recently finished reading his book, and it inspired me, gave me hope to live! Jackson wrote a little bit about himself and his life there. He was a kind-hearted and special person! We are very similar spiritually... I am sure that if we knew each other personally, we would be good friends! In his book, Jackson wrote that he loved to dream while sitting by the river, loved making houses for cats, loved walking with cats in the snow and exploring the world around him... I hope that now he is making houses for cats somewhere in paradise, and his soul is calm, happy and free!

I have just read Jackson´s book, Whole Again. It has really helped me and it´s the best book of its kind that I´ve ever read. It was like reading about my own life in detail!! I was Googling Jackson to learn more about him and to read more of his books, when I learnt this awful sad news. As a reader of just one of his books, I can say that Jackson has had an impact on my life and I truly feel upset to learn about what has happened. I would have loved to meet Jackson. I was Jackson's literary agent for 9 years, every day of them a blessing. From his first email to me in January of 2014, he expressed talent, compassion, generosity of spirit, good humor, a gentle nature, and a keen intelligence. Every interaction with Jackson brought joy--he was kind, appreciative, thoughtful and graceful.

After a very dark time in my life I came across Jackson´s books and they helped me through. I worked closely with Jackson for 5 years and it was clear from the very first days that he was a very special individual.
In addition to his creativity, intellect and kindness mentioned by so many here, he always looked for and brought out the best in everyone and was quick and effusive with both his gratitude and praise. He was humble to a fault, quick to laughter and up for anything that made our work even a little bit more fun. Jackson was a joy and an inspiration and, although my heart is broken, I cherish every memory and conversation.

I was so lucky to perform in 3 musicals with Jackson at Derryfield but to also have him as a friend. Jackson was one of the funniest and most caring cast members - he could make us all laugh for hours during long dress rehearsals. Jackson was the glue that brought the cast together and I remember being so sad when he graduated. He was one of my favorite people at Derryfield - someone who was always himself while being genuine and kind to others. I'm so grateful I got to know him and send my condolences to his husband, family, and friends.

I was at a loss for words when I first got to know of Jackson's passing. His untimely death is quite unfortunate and a hard pill for me to swallow. I had the joy of working with him on several occasions during my time at Akamai. He always came in with a positive attitude and a gleaming smile. I looked up to him and would often get great, positive words of encouragement from him whether it be about work or life in general. I did not know Jackson but in reading his life history I am deeply moved by his story and all of the people that he touched with his kindness. This is from a father who has lost an adult child and your grief is due to your great love for this young man. For where there is great grief there is unyielding and unconditional love. There is no explanation of God's plan. He laughs at ours. Jackson is happy beyond our wildest imagination as he takes his place in eternal heaven. To Jackson's parents, I have walked this terrible journey. There's is never a moment when our precious child is out of our thoughts. You will meet again. His absence will be unbearable at times but faith is all we have to hold on to. My deepest condolences to all of those that loved this special young man. HIS will be done. Jackson was not only a valued member of our team but also a dear friend to many. He was a truly exceptional individual - intelligent, kind-hearted, and possessed a wonderful sense of humor.

I had the privilege of working with Jackson for most of his time at Akamai. He was not just a colleague but a special friend. Even though we lived on the opposite sides of the globe, we shared so many memories together, be it a project implementation and go-live, attending a conference together, visiting each other´s home when in the country, lunches, dinners, fun chats, endless calls. My heart is shattered by the loss Jackson. When I joined Akamai six years ago, Jackson and I started as a team of two. I couldn´t believe how brilliant, kind, warm, genuine and nice he was; NICE - one of his favorite words and a qualification he was known for advocating any time we had the opportunity to interview others to join the team "They have to be nice!".
His impact on everything was priceless. That impact also spread to other companies because of his willingness to help and share in the industry. He was a true Innovator. He created so many amazing things! My favorite creation was a personal gift he created for me, an awesome Star Wars themed video that touched my heart deeply. I will cherish all the times we geeked out on projects, and the fun we had making videos that had us laughing so much our stomachs hurt.
He will be missed by many. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Still feels like a dream I want to wake up from! Jackson was the nicest warmest soul. I really miss him! I am so glad to have shared a lot of happy cheerful moments at work and during his visits to India. He was always appreciative and suppportive of everyone he'd worked with.
