Joseph Niedzwiecki Obituary

Joseph Francis Niedzwiecki passed away unexpectedly, with his wife by his side, on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

He was born on Aug. 25, 1945, in Manchester, NH, son of Walter and Helen Niedzwiecki.

Joe was a 1963 graduate of Central High School. He served six years in the military, first with the N.H. National Guard, then a tour of duty in Viet Nam as a member of the U.S. Army, honorably discharged in 1969. Joe received numerous commendations for Expert Marksmanship. He was very proud of his service and treasured the friends he made.

He was employed at Summit Packaging in Manchester, N.H., for over 40 years, retiring as Production Manager in 2007. Joe was a sports lover, playing everything at one time or another; his favorite was golf. He was a great guy and had a lot of friends.

Joe is survived by his wife of 36 years, Susan (Grant) Niedzwiecki of Hooksett, N.H.; daughters, Karyn Niedzwiecki and husband, Alan Eves, of Greenland, N.H. and Judy and husband, John Stansbury, of Utah; sister, Barbara Hartman of Pompano Beach, Fla., and three granddaughters, Chelsea, Amelia and Haley.

Just heard about Joe´s passing, and my sympathies to the family. I remember him back in the 60s when he was one of, what they were sometimes called, the `Four Musketeers´, Ronnie, Turk, Mike and Joe. Good guy.

We joined the guards at the same time in 1964 andwent on to basic training on March 13th. at Ft. Dix, NJ. we were both in the same platoon. Attended many weekend drills and summer camps. IN 1968 and 1969, we find ourselves in Viet Nam. Phu Loi is the place along thunder 2 and thunder 3. Joe was a great guy and a positive person as well. My sympathies to the family. Rest in peace my friend.

As a new retiree to Palm Aire in Florida last winter, Joe and Sue took me under their wings and gave me family in my new state. From Fearless leader on our bike rides, to the constant encouragement on the links, to the laughs on the front porch benches, you will be so dearly missed. My thoughts to Sue and the family. Rest in peace my friend.

Joe and I were friends as kids. I lived on Orange St and Joe live on Union St. We hung out together through elementary school and then high school. Joe brought me to my first boy/girl dance I think it was 12 years old. I told him that I did not know how to dance and he said, "just hold the girl like this and move your feet". I remember him fondly and with positive memories.

A fellow soldier and friend, always uplifting, even in the difficult days in Vietnam. His sense of humor and comeraderie was very apparent. You will be missed Brother!

I am sorry for the loss to family and friends. I have often heard Joe's name through the childhood recollections of my father(Peter) and uncle(William). While my Dad would tell me about his childhood memories, a smile always came/comes to his face when talking about Joe. Can only imagine my Dad isn't the only person Joe had this affect on and what more can you ask of someone on how to be remembered. May God give you all strength during this difficult time.
Sincerely
Michael Dobbins
