Kenneth Field Obituary
Ken was a survivor of type I diabetes for over 70 years, a lifelong warrior as recognized by the Joslin Diabetes Research Center. He had a natural aptitude for all things mechanical and his career spanned sheet metal work, woodworking, and home building. There was nothing that he couldn't build or fix.
He loved boating, sailing, traveling, and camping. He enjoyed machines of all kinds, especially those that could go fast. He loved a good prank.
He lived his life with boundless courage... whether it be through his need for speed or his tenacity with which he faced the physical challenges associated with his diabetes, always defying the odds.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, known affectionately by his grandsons as "Papa Tractor". He loved hearing about all of their adventures and accomplishments.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Susan Ellen (Ring) Field; his son Kenneth Field Jr and wife Sandra (McCallum) Field; his daughter Kristanne (Field) Santiago and husband Theodore James Santiago; three grandsons: Ethan Malcolm Field, Ryan James Santiago, and Cameron Joseph Santiago; and his loyal dog Abby.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm on September 7th, 2025 at Moose Mountain Recreation Center in Brookfield, New Hampshire. Donations can be made in his memory at Breakthrough T1D (https://www.BreakThroughT1D.org/), formerly known as Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
